Hello World! 🌍

Who am I?

This is my first post on a dev blog. I did run a tech blog/newsletter on Substack for a while several years ago and then life happened. I moved to Canada, got busy with my job and getting accustomed to life here. After all, it was my first international trip. After a while, things settled, made new friends and life is good.

Why the blog?

I’ve done so many cool personal projects throughout the years, for example: setting up a homelab. I wanted to log them all so that it would help me in the future to look back and share my experience, as an absolute beginner, with the like-minded folks and build a small community. Even if it’s a handful of people. It also helps me recall the steps I followed and might help with troubleshooting steps later. This blog is different as I set everything from scratch. Well, not exactly scratch, but thanks to this amazing template from al-folio I was able to customize it to my needs. I deployed the site on my own and since I own the whole code, there’s no third-party dependencies and I can redeploy within minutes if I have to take my site elsewhere.

Also, being a developer, I started liking this style of blogging (editing markdown files for blog posts and writing them in VS Code). It feels cool and close to home. It might take some getting used to, but once I get the hang of the template I think it would be awesome!

What’s next?

I plan to write primarily about cool tech tutorials about my projects and interesting stuff I come across and my thoughts on them. I hope to stick to a weekly schedule and write on weekends. Please feel free to share your reactions to my posts and comment what you like or want to see more of down below (please be respectful of your fellow members and let’s keep this space safe for everyone. In the world of negativity let’s be the beacon of hope 🙂).

See you soon!
